How much would botox injections be? I am looking to get botox injections between the eyebrows and am looking for an estimated cost. Thank you!

    Hi Dr. Reichel,
I am Asian and was recently diagnosed with Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra by a dermatologist. I have a handful of these spots on both sides of my face and several on my neck. Maybe 20-25 altogether for removal depending on cost. Do you do electrocautery for this? If so, assuming you agree with the diagnosis, do you charge by time or is it a flat fee for this cosmetic procedure? Wondering what the cost would be. Thank you very much!

Hi there. Thank you for the question. I would be very happy to see you Casey. The cost is based on the number of units needed to treat a particular area. The muscles that control the frown lines between the eyebrows can be pretty strong. The usual amount is about 15 to 25 units depending on your specific needs. We charge $15 per unit - so anywhere from $225 to $375. This price is on the average to higher end for Seattle, but you will be seeing me, the doctor and medical director/owner and I will do your injections.
We do have ways to decrease the cost - we have a "Bank-a-Vial" program where you buy 100 units up front at $12 per unit and then use them over time. The offer doesn't expire. Most people need injections 2-3 times per year.

Please call 206-859-5777 to make an appointment. If we treat the same day as your consult, the $80 consult fee is applied toward treatment cost. I look forward to seeing you.

Hi Padma. Yes, I typically do electrocautery for this. We can pick a couple of them and do a "test" patch to be sure you don't have any unwanted side effects, or we can just treat them all at once. The cost of the test patch is around $100 and is applied to the total cost of the treatment which would be around $300. A couple of things to think about: 1. You may want to pre-treat with hydroquinone (fading cream) so that the risk of pigmentation after treatment is less. 2. Healing time is around 1 week until the scabs fall off, and then a while longer for any pigment changes to fade. 3. They may recur, or not be completely treated with one treatment. 4. There is a small risk of scarring. This doesn't happen often at all (I tend to undertreat and do a second treatment than really "hit" them and increase the risk of pigment or scarring.

That's about it. Please call 206-859-5777 to schedule an appointment. Thanks. Dr. Reichel
